finishing the last one...

Ok…so to finish my flashback…We had our families down for Easter dinner the first weekend in April and Michaels cousin Jacob was in town working the event so he was able to join us.  My parents stayed the night on Sunday to go to the practice rounds on Monday and my dad started painting the nursery.  I was scheduled to work all week due to patients wanting appointments over spring break but that didn’t happen.. Tuesday night April 6th we were in the middle of watching Biggest Loser and all of a sudden I felt a kick like pain and then thought I heard a popping noise…needless to say  I went running to the bathroom and discovered my water had broken.  In a little bit of shock I told Michael that I thought it was broken and he says….you think or you know…I said well I know….and he said what do I do? And I reply give me the phone I need to call my mom! Of course she reaffirms the reality that I was entering labor and would have my sweet Allie in less than 24 hours.  We got to the hospital and because I was only 34 weeks and 2 days they gave me ambient in hopes I would sleep through the night and maybe delay the delivery process. I was able to sleep through the night- except the hourly bathroom trips due to way too many fluids!  Around 8 am they checked me and I was only dialated 1 cm and slowly began having contractions…at 11 am I was still only a 1 and they wanted to give me pitocin but I refused and didn’t want anything to make the contractions worse…I wanted my body to do it as long as possible on its own.  Kinda don’t remember the rest of the afternoon besides intense back labor that was nearly unbearable without help from my amazing husband coaching me through the pain! Around 7ish (maybe?) I was dialated to a 9 and about to die in pain ….begging for the meds only to discover I waited too long and could no longer have them.  I never fully dialated, so by the time my sweet doctor finally arrived she let me start pushing….and two hours later after WAY TOO MUCH pushing Allie Reese Fritz arrived at 9:04 pm weighing 5lbs 1 ounce and 17 ½ inches long.  They let me hold my precious little one for a few minutes before doing all the tests in the room. She was very healthy and strong but they went ahead and took her to the NICU because she was so early.  She ended up staying in the NICU for 6 days because she was jaundice and they kept her under the lights :)  Finally on Tuesday April 13th we brought her home!!! She is a wonderful baby and more than I ever could have dreamed of!!! Being a mommy is the greatest gift from the Lord and I treasure the sweet life He has given us.
Right after she was born
In the NICU the night she was born
sweet yawn the day we left the hospital
sweet sleeping baby :)
two weeks old caught a smile while she was sleeping

Fast forward 4 months and here we are! I am learning how to balance spending time with the Lord, my husband, my baby girl while attempting to keep the house half decent and cook every now and then…and working 2 days a week. I  honestly don’t know how woman who work full time can manage it all cause I feel like I can barely do it all now!  I am so blessed that the Lord has provided for me to only have to work part time and know that he will provide all we stand in need of in order for me to raise our children!

Allie is talking and smiling up a storm and SOOOO much fun. I read in a book the other day that this is a wonderful stage cause they are so happy all the time and still stay where you put them! :) Michael cant wait for her to walk but he doesn’t have a clue how nice it is that she stays in one place right now! She hates tummy time so we are working on that, but she loves sitting up with help and LOVES standing. She loves her daddy so much and it brings such joy to see her learning who we are and loving us back.
